Fight For 15 bargaining unit to elect officers

The United Media Guild will soon accept nominations for the following positions:

  1. Unit Chair of its NFFWU bargaining unit
  2. Vice-Chair of its NFFWU bargaining unit

Nominations can be offered by anyone in the bargaining unit.  Individuals may self-nominate.  Those members in temporary positions (canvassers) are eligible to vote.  However, because their positions are for a limited time, they may not hold the office of Unit Chair or Vice Chair.

The term of Unit Chair and Vice-Chair will run from January 1, 2023 thru December 31, 2024.

To place one’s name in nomination, send an email to: and state the name of the person you are nominating.  Also state the position for which you are nominating them.  Failure to include both of these things will invalidate your email.

Nominations must be received by Thursday, December 15.  Any nominations sent after that date will not be accepted.

If multiple names received for either position, an election will be scheduled and that will occur roughly one week later.  The voting process would be similar to how this bargaining unit voted on its recent contract – conducted all day long, online, by a third party organization, with results announced at the end of the day.

It needs to be pointed out here that, should there be an election, only current members are allowed to participate.  So if you are a recent hire and have not yet signed your Guild application paperwork, I urge you to do so immediately, so that you may take part in this most important process.

I also want to make sure that everyone understands that, in the event that an election is required, the Guild will send each NFFWU member a link for voting and we do not use Employer email addresses.  So make sure that you Guild steward has your personal email address.
