Shannon Duffy made the following request of Lee Enterprises on behalf of Guild members:
It has come to the Guild’s attention that Lee’s announced medical premiums for the coming year is an 11 percent increase over last year’s premium amount. Quite frankly, we were surprised the increase is that high and we request the following information so we can better understand the company’s need for such an increase. Additionally, once the information is available we would request to sit down together and discuss it. Thank you.
The information that we are requesting includes:
- The schedule of benefits for all plans available to our members.
- The actual 2011 and 2o12 plan performance.
- The 2013 rate projections.
- Other pertinent information that you feel will enable us to to better understand the need in this area.
