Why “me too” language in a union contract is always a good idea!

Shannon,

Today, TEGNA announced a discretionary appreciation bonus of $1,000 (subject to taxes, 401k deductions, and normal payroll deductions) for full-time and regularly scheduled part-time non-bargaining unit/non-manager employees to be paid on Friday, November 17th.

Eligible non-bargaining unit employees must be on the payroll as of November 13, 2023 to receive this discretionary bonus.  Employees hired between January 1, 2023 and November 1, 2023 will receive a pro rata bonus.  Employees hired after November 1, 2023 are not eligible for the bonus.

As you know, pursuant to the current CBA, bargaining unit employees will be allowed to participate in this discretionary appreciation bonus on the same basis as non-bargaining unit employees.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

My best,

Alicia Elsner

President & General Manager
