ACLU of Kansas staff joins UMG, gains voluntary recognition

The ACLU of Kansas and the United Media Guild have entered into a voluntary recognition agreement which recognizes the Union as the representative of covered ACLU of Kansas staffers.  The voluntary recognition agreement included a “card check,” administered today by former NLRB Chair Wilma Liebman, who was appointed by President Obama.

The ACLU of Kansas affirms its longstanding tradition of championing workers’ rights through this union recognition, which was supported by ACLU of Kansas employees.

The workers’ union, ACLU of Kansas United, will be joining United Media Guild – CWA, Local 36047. The ACLU of Kansas management, employees, and the United Media Guild look forward to engaging in constructive, good faith contract negotiations for the mutual benefit of both parties.
