The United Media Guild was sad to see Pekin vice-chair Jon Reed leave the Daily Times for another professional opportunity.
Reed was one of the strongest activists in our entire local. He helped lead the organizing drive and the long, hard fight for a first contract. He continued to provide steady leadership in the workplace as a unit officer.
We can’t thank Jon enough for all he has done for his co-workers, his newspaper and his community.
Recently the Pekin unit elected Miranda Henderson to serve as the new vice-chair.
